My Etsy Items

Etsy PIF or Pay It Forward

I have listed a new Etsy PIF (Pay It Forward) item. My PIF's are listed as being .20 each with no shipping charges, however I actually charge nothing for these items. Most of my PIF items are photographs that I have taken around St. Augustine, FL that I simply love and want to share.
I do ask that if you get one of my PIF items, that you, in turn, list a small PIF item in your shop to share the joy with others.

The New York Times: For Craft Sales, the Recession Is a Help

"SAN FRANCISCO — Feeling the pinch of the economic downturn, some holiday gift-givers are saving money this year by making their own presents or — for those who lack the time or talent — buying handmade gifts from others.

Craft stores, from giant chains like Michaels Stores to small scrapbook supply shops, are reporting that sales are higher compared with the last holiday season, and online marketplaces for handmade goods, like Etsy, are seeing a boom in listings and transactions."

Etsy Postings

Today I have cleaned up a few Etsy listings and started listing a few new Altered Art Domino's and original photography. I've recently discovoered alcohol ink and LOVE the effects I can get on my dominos! I'm not only stamping images, but also adding charms to my alcohol ink dominos. They are very reasonably priced and just convo me to get a ball chain (available in silver, copper and black) to have a chain included in your order.
For the entire month of January, all altered art domino's are B2G1F (buy 2 get 1 free)! Just let me know which you'd like for a free one!!

Etsy

So I have just really started posting my hand-made items and original photography on Etsy. I have only sold a few things, but I am hopeful that there will be a market for my altered art and photos soon.

I've also started posting a few PIF (Pay It Forward) items. These have been photographs that I have taken around St. Augustine, FL and there is no charge for any PIF item I have listed. Someone was nice enough to allow me a "free PIF" and I like the idea so much that I've been adding them daily to my Etsy store.

Scoutie Girl Blog

Another Blog I like is Scoutie Girl. She features Indie Art (per wikipedia: Indie design for niche and often handmade products) and I simply love her soy candles she has featured. I have several of the soy candles that I purchased on Etsy from Mireasma. I always like to buy from independat artists whenever possible and Etsy is a great place to look.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Missing Sara

So Sara, my 5 year old German Shepherd Dog, has been at the kennels to be bred since Saunday and I'm really fighting the urge to call and check on her...again today. It's really getting tough! On the good side, her babies will be due right at Christmas (a day or so either way) and since we decided this will be her last litter (her 3rd), that seems like a wonderful present. Maybe I'll "gift myself" this year and keep a puppy. We have a puppy from her 1st litter and it seems fitting to keep one from her last.

Finished Windows

Well, I finally finished a few art windows and I'm rather pleased. Not only did I get a few projects completed, but I'll have a wider selection for Uptown Saturday Night. You can see all my art at my website ArtWindowsbyPamela .

Uptown Saturday Night is a once monthly event in St. Augustine, FL (the last Saturday of every month) where the local antique and art stores on my side of town stay open late. Wine and snacks are offered and a general festive air invites shoppers to stay and browse. It has a street party feel and everyone is always happy. I set-up my art at the San Marco Theater, along with my friend Norma Johns, who does wonderful jewelry work.

Newest Works:

Red Dove - resin and metal mixed-media art

Peaceful Shell - resin and shell mixed-media art

Swingin'est Secret Agent - microscope slide pendant

notcot.org

While notcot.org isn't strictly an "art" blog, it is always my starting point when surfing the internet. You will find everything from art to unique items and gift ideas, furniture and inovative technology ideas laid out in a neat and orderly fashion. This is the first stop on all "surfing" adventures and I consistently find great ideas here. Right now, my favorite find from notcot.org is Mr. Wilson, an altered art tennis ball with a twist!

New Adventures in Blogging

I've got time on my hands and a computer at my fingertips so it's time for a new adventure. I surf the net for art inspiration daily and have a hard time keeping up with all the great sites that I find, so I've decided to save my ecelctic mix of finds where not only I can find them, but I can share with everyone. If you like what you find, please leave a comment. If you find something you think I might enjoy, send me the link! I'm always on the look-out for new and interesting things.

While I keep all my links and finds here, I'll also be posting some of the projects that I'm working on. I am a resin and multi-media artist, however, I don't limit myself to any defined areas of art. When I get inspired, I can be found dabbling in everything from jewelry making, memory windows, to new things I don't even have a name for. If you find any of my projects interesting, let me know.
